This section describes how to install the DSJ client software. This step may have been performed by your system administrator.
To run the DSJ client, you need:
You may want use a ping
utility to verify that your
connection to the DSJ server is working. PING.EXE
is
provided in both Windows 95 and Windows NT. For example, if the name of
your DSJ server is jserver1.mycompany.com
, then from the
command prompt, type:
ping jserver1.mycompany.com
You should get a few "Reply from" messages. A "Bad IP address" or "Request timed out" indicates a basic problem with your connection to the server. You must correct this before running the DSJ client.
Run the DSJ setup program and follow the onscreen instructions for a client installation. The following client files are installed in the target directory:
