enCOM SYSware DOS Utilities '97 Package 1 enCOM SYSware has created some utilities for the PC. Here's a run-down of the programs that are in this package. There are a total of 14 utilities: CREATE.EXE - This utility creates a file of zero length bytes. This is good for creating ID type files. The possibilities are endless. CRSR.EXE - This utility changes the cursor. There are different styles to change to, underlines, above cursor, block cursor, or none. TTD.EXE - This utility is a reminding program for those things that you need reminding on. A good 'posty' type program. FINDIT.EXE - This utility can find a file real quickly. While the file is being searched for, the display will show the file found and a file named FOUND.TXT. This file contains information of the files searched to keep a record for you. Use the /F parameter to find a file. Also deletes files you specify! PCXSHO.EXE - This utility displays .PCX files that are 320x200x256 non windows colors. It displays the picture and you can hit a key to end. Type PCXSHO /? for help. Good for game .PCX type files. GETKEY.EXE - This utility only excepts a key to proceed further. If DOS' pause is not enough or simply want something without a message to continue, you can use this. DCONVER.EXE -This utility is a decimal to Hex converter. Just enter a decimal number and the output is the hex value. Good, quick utility for programming. UPDATE.EXE -This utility will update any .ZIP files with a certain file you wish to update it with. REBOOT.COM -This utility performs a warm-boot. In case the warm boot keys CONTROL-ALT-DEL are disabled or something, you can re-boot the system with this utility. DINFO.EXE -This utility will display a drive's serial number, volume OEM name and version. CURSOR.EXE -This small utility is another 'get a key' function with animated cursors. XD.EXE -This utility is like the 'CD' command, but will change thru drive/partitions. CMA.EXE -This quick utility checks conventional memory available. This is a fast quick way instead of using the DOS' MEM command to check memory. TOUCH.EXE -This little utility will time-stamp the input file to the current date and time. Type 'TOUCH' by itself for program description. This program is like Borland's TOUCH command. MOST of these programs have on-line help by typing in the program name and passing the /? parameter. For example: FINDIT /? This will enable on-line support. INSTALLATION There are no installation utilities to install the programs. Simply copy which files you want over to the hard drive. Hope these utilities help! A Windows/DOS utilities package will be out in the future. CONTACT ENCOM: Write to us at: C.
