Sidewind v1.5 does not use as much processor time as did v1.0. If SIDEWIND.NLM v1.0 is loaded on a NetWare 3.11 Server and is suspected of using too much CPU time, converting to SIDEWIND.NLM v1.5 should help. To make the conversion, do the following: 1) Make a copy of your original SIDEWIND.NLM v1.0. When the patch process is completed your version 1.0 SIDEWIND.NLM will be overwritten by a v1.5 SIDEWIND.NLM. 2) Create a patch directory containing a copy of SIDEWIND.NLM v1.0, the patch file (patch file has an RTP extension), and the patch executable (PATCH.EXE). The patch file and executable are obtained from NETWIRE. An example directory listing would look like: SIDEWIND NLM 241283 03-19-92 9:00a SDWND1_0 RTP 67928 05-11-93 11:07a PATCH EXE 76981 01-30-92 5:00a 3) At the command line prompt, type: C> patch SDWND1_0.RTP 4) Copy the new SIDEWIND.NLM into the SYSTEM directory of volume SYS: on your NetWare 3.11 server. 5) At the file server console, unload SIDEWIND by: :UNLOAD SIDEWIND 6) Load the new SIDEWIND by typing: :LOAD SIDEWIND ÿ
