ABSTRACT:

PTF 569 updates COMMEXEC.NLM for sites that use NetWare for SAA 1.3B with the
IBM product, "NetView MultiSystem Manager MVS/ESA" (MSM).  MSM manages Novell
NetWare file servers among other things through an Open NetView compliant NLM.
The Open NetView Interface/API is provided by NetWare for SAA.  Please create
a directory called DISK1 on your server into which you will unzip PTF569.EXE.

     Installation Instructions:

     1.   Create a directory on the server called DISK1.

     2.   Put PTF 569 into the DISK1 directory.

     3.   Unzip PTF569.EXE.

     4.   Do a CSDOWN.

     5.   LOAD install.

     6.   Go to install Product Options.

     7.   On the "Currently Installed Products" screen press <Insert>.

     8.   Specify the SYS:DISK1 directory as the one to install.

     9.   Press <Enter>.

     10.  Answer YES in response to the question asking if you want to install
          on this server.

     11.  Wait for the installation to complete.  When it is complete, you
          should see 1.3.44 on the products screen.

     12.  Load COMEXEC.

     13.  Reload other products.

          No reconfiguration is required.

     Patch History:

     This is the first special COMMEXEC.NLM for MultiSystem Manager.

     Solution Specifics:

     1.   Resolution vectors (NMVT) can now be sent with the NWNVSend() API
          and receive the same Hierarchy Resource List processing as alerts.

          The resolution vector must be fully formatted.

     2.   The proper alert request ID is now returned if there is a problem
          forwarding the alert to NetView through the Open NetView Interface.

     3.   The 110 character limit for multiple line runcmd response messages
          has been removed.  The new limit is 220 characters.  If a line in a
          multiple line runcmd response exceeds the limit, it will be
          truncated.  A single line runcmd response message is broken down
          into as many 220 character chunks as required.

     4.   Fixes a problem where an Open NetView runcmd would be sent to an
          application truncated if a certain pattern occurred.
