Target: SERVER.EXE Problem: The server switches to its DOS reentrency stack during initialization. The Norton antivirus device driver interrupts the server after initialization and does some work. The server timer interrupt then kicks in, switches to the top of the server DOS reentrency stack and corrupts the data that the server had on the stack before the timer interrupt. Symptoms: When the Norton antivirus device driver is loaded and SERVER.EXE attempts to load, the server will hang. **************************************************************************** TCSFIX.PAT - NwtWare Lite Server TimerCriticalSection=100 patch File: SERVER.EXE Checksums: A1, 145, 74, 165, 64, 40 Problem: Some software/hardware will not function properly (according to their manufacturers) under Windows if the TimerCriticalSection setting under the [386Enh] section of the SYSTEM.INI file is set too high. This patch forces the NetWare Lite SERVER.EXE to allow the TimerCriticalSection to be set as low as 100 to accomodate these special circumstances. Symptoms: Software/hardware fails to function properly under Windows and the manufacturer states that the reason is that the TimerCriticalSection is set too high. ***************************************************************************** WNET.EXE: Note: This is not the complete WNET utility, only two files have been updated. You should use these only if you currently have WNET. Symptom: This new file fixes the problem where WNET doesn't release the windows resources after exiting WNET. Also fixes the problem with creating Network directories with spaces in them. Instructions: Copy the WNET.EXE and WNETRES.DLL file into your \NWLITE subdirectory, overwriting THE existing WNET.EXE file. Copy the NLPLIB.DLL into your \Windows subdirectory, overwriting the exisiting NLPLIB.DLL file. Restart Windows and run the WNET utility. *****************************************************************************
