INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR A NETWARE 4.0x SERVER

NOTES: 
1. If your server is running NW4.1 DO NOT Install this Patch.
Instead download the NetWare 4.1 specific patch, HPT009.EXE and HPT010.EXE.

2. The HPT006 series requires NetWare for SAA 1.3.42 (or later), for successful installation.

It is vital that you read all of the steps below.

I. Create a directory on the NetWare 4 server called PATCH.

II. Create 3 subdirectories under it:
  DISK1
  DISK2
  DISK3

III. Put HPT006.EXE into the DISK1 subdirectory.

IV. Unzip HPT006.EXE.   HPT006   <enter>

V. Put HPT007.EXE into the DISK2 subdirectory.

VI. Unzip HPT007.EXE.   HPT007    <enter>

VII. Put HPT008.EXE into the DISK3 subdirectory.

VIII. Unzip HPT008.  HPT008   <enter>

IX. *IF* you will be managing HostPrint with NetWare for SAA Services Manager (SSM), install HPT004 onto the workstation:
- Create a DISK4 subdirectory.
- Unzip HPT004.EXE into the DISK4 subdirectory.
  A. START Windows  WIN   <enter>

  B. Select FILE/RUN from Program Manager.

  C. RUN PATCH\DISK4\SETUP.EXE

  D. From the "NetWare for SAA Service Manager Setup" select the "Add
  Services" option.

  E. You will be notified when installation is complete.

X. The server must be active but COMMEXEC.NLM must not be running.
  A. UNLOAD HOSTPRT (If already loaded)
  B. CSDOWN
  C. LOAD INSTALL
  D. Select "Maintenance/Selective Install".
  E. Select "Products Options".
  F. Press the INSert key.
	G. Enter the correct path to the DISK1 directory, the INSTALL           program will install the appropriate files from DISK1, DISK2 or
  DISK3 directories as applicable.

For example:
SYS:\PATCH\DISK1

INSTALL will inform you when installation of the PTF series is
complete.

XI. Verify installation of the HPT006 series:
  1. Load Install.
  2. Select the Products option.
  3. Select the "Currently Installed Products" option.
  4. HostPrint should be at Version 1.10.10.

XII. Login to the NetWare HostPrint server as ADMIN.

XIII. Insure you are in the same Bindery Context as the file server where HostPrint is installed, with a search drive mapping to SYS:PUBLIC.

XIV. Run HPDEF.  (see page 2-2 of the Administration Guide for complete information)

XV. Run PRINTDEF: Refer to the NetWare HostPrint Administration Guide, starting on PAGE 2-18, STEP NO.4 and follow the program prompts.

The PRINTDEF database file PRINTDEF.DAT will be created/updated in
the SYS:\PUBLIC subdirectory when PRINTDEF "Import Print Devices" is
executed.

XVI. Run PRINTCON: Refer to the NetWare HostPrint Administration Guide, starting on PAGE 2-22 and follow the program prompts.

XVII. Login as SUPERVISOR /b, and run PRINTCON on any 4.x servers you will be sending HostPrint, print jobs to.  The PRINTCON database file PRINTJOB.DAT will be created/updated in the SYS:\PUBLIC subdirectory when PRINTCON is executed.

XVIII. Login as SUPERVISOR, and run PRINTCON on any 3.x servers you will be sending HostPrint, print jobs to.  The PRINTCON database file PRINTJOB.DAT will be created/updated in the SYS:\PUBLIC subdirectory when PRINTCON is executed.

NOTE: Any print jobs which were configured with/on a 3.1x server with
PRINTCON, can no longer be used.
