ASREF.TXT does not require a PostScript printer and does not contain illustrations. Give a copy of the Reference Guide to the NetView Operator. The information in the Reference Guide is designed to help the NetView operator manage NetWare servers. 8. Print the NetWare Management Agent for NetView Administration Guide. You can do this by, doing one of the following steps: A. Print ASGUID.TXT* from DISK1.EXE. B. Download, decompress, and print PSGUID.EXE. PSGUID.EXE requires a PostScript printer and contains illustrations. ASGUID.TXT does not require a PostScript printer and does not contain illustrations. Each of these files contain the NMA for NetView Administration Guide. The Administration Guide describes: þ NMA for NetView 1.3B þ How to install NMA for NetView 1.3B *These ASCII files should be viewed or printed with a monospaced font. Proportional fonts change the appearance and may make them difficult to read. 9. Install NMA for NetView as described in Chapter 2 of the NetWare Management Agent for NetView Administration Guide. IMPORTANT: Do not install NMA for NetView and NetWare for SAA in the same NetWare server. NMA for NetView and NetWare for SAA provide similar support for NetView. Patch History: Version 1.3B replaces version 1.3, which was in NOVFILES until the middle of April, 1994. Version 1.3B provides the following new features: þ Support for NetWare 4.0 or later servers and support for additional RUNCMDs that apply to NetWare 4. þ Security enabling and disabling. þ RUNCMD and alert enabling and disabling. þ Alert flow control in servers with direct host connections. Addendum to NetWare Management Agent for NetView Administration Guide ---------------------------------------------------------------------- If you configured the NMA for NetView server for Direct Host Connections and the name you specified in the Logical Adapter Name field of NVCONFIG differs from the logical name of the Token Ring LAN adapter specified in the server's AUTOEXEC.NCF file, the following message appears when you attempt to load the NMANV NLM. MESSAGE DLCI ERROR: Adapter requested was not found Reload required If this message occurs, remedy it using the following steps: 1. Enter NVDOWN at the server console. 2. Enter the CONFIG command at the server console and note each LAN adapter name listed in the "Board name" field. Each name in the Board name field is the logical name of each loaded LAN adapter. Note down the exact name of the Token Ring adapter that provides the direct host connection. 3. Load NVCONFIG. 4. Select Communications Options. Then select NetView Host. The Token Ring Connection to Host form appears. 5. In the Logical Adapter Name field enter the correct logical adapter name. 6. Exit the Token Ring Connection to Host form and exit NVCONFIG. 7. Reload NMANV. ÿ
