This file contains a version of BINDFIX.EXE that fixes a problem found when
defining a user as a group member.  The file also addresses the problem of
BINDFIX running out of memory when checking for duplicate OBJECTS or
PROPERTIES.

This README file of BNDFX3.EXE accompanies BINDFIX.EXE v3.53 for NetWare
v3.11.

Purpose:

1)   This version of BINDFIX.EXE fixes a problem found when defining a user
as a group member.  The user would be added to the list of members in the
Group member list in SYSCON, but when viewing the same information from the
GROUPS BELONGED TO option, the group name would not appear in the list. If
the system administrator tries to insert the group from the GROUPS BELONGED
TO, an error message "AddBinderyObjecttoSet returned error 233" would
appear (indicating that the member already exists). If an attempt is made
from the group side to delete the user from the group member list, the
error "DeleteBinderyObjectFromSet returned error 234" appears (indicating
that the member doesn't exist).

BINDFIX v3.52 that ships with NetWare 3.11 would not fix this problem.
BINDFIX does check links between users and groups for consistency but due
to a programming issue, would only check the first 32 members of a group
for consistency.  BINDFIX v3.53 checks all members of the group for
consistency.

2)   This version of BINDFIX has been compiled using the large memory
model. It addresses the problem of BINDFIX running out of memory when
checking for duplicate OBJECTS or duplicate PROPERTIES.

3)   The previous fix (the large memory model) had an erroneous library
linked in.  This version of Bindfix (3.53) has the correct library linked
in.

To install this version of BINDFIX.EXE:

1)    Log in to the server as supervisor and CD to the SYSTEM directory.

2)    Rename the BINDFIX.EXE that is currently there to BINDFIX.OLD.

A) In order to rename the file you will need to flag the file SRW. 
(example:  FLAG BINDFIX.EXE SRW then REN BINDFIX.EXE *.OLD)

3)    Now copy the BINDFIX.EXE supplied with this EXE file to the SYSTEM
directory and flag it Read Only.  (example:  FLAG BINDFIX.EXE RO)


You are now ready to run the new version of BINDFIX.  Type BINDFIX at the
command line prompt and press the return key.
