Included with this file is AFPFIX5.NLM, AFPFIX6.NLM and PATCHMAN.NLM. AFPFIX5.NLM resolves a problem with DOS text files and DOS applications (.com, .exe, etc...) reverting to the default blank icon when being moved from folder to folder on the NetWare v3.11 and NetWare for Macintosh v3.0 or v3.01 server. With this patch loaded on the server, the icon will remain constant when the file is moved. This is v1.1 of AFPFIX6.NLM. It is an update to the v1.0 of AFPFIX6.NLM. If you are using v1.0 of AFPFIX6, you should upgrade to v1.1. This new version will work seemlessly with either 3.0 or 3.01 NetWare for Macintosh. AFPFIX6.NLM fixes two create problems in AFP.NLM v3.0 and v3.01 that come with NetWare for Macintosh v3.0 and v3.01. The first problem occurs under System 7. When a user has effective rights of Create but no Access Control to a folder, for example "test", and attempts to create a folder in "test" or copy a folder to "test", an error alert is displayed: "You cannot create a folder in the window "test" because you do not have enough access privileges." But, the folder is created. The second problem occurs in both System 6 and System 7 Macintosh workstations. When a user has effective rights of Create but not Modify to a folder, for example "test2", and files are copied to folder "test2", they lose their Finder Information, which includes their Type and Creator, and in System 7, flags that make alias files, stationery files, and edition files special. AFPFIX5.NLM and AFPFIX6.NLM should be loaded together to completely resolve all the problems mentioned here. To install: (a) Copy PATCHMAN.NLM, AFPFIX5.NLM and AFPFIX6.NLM to SYS:\SYSTEM. (b) Add the following commands to AUTOEXEC.NCF: LOAD PATCHMAN LOAD AFPFIX5 LOAD AFPFIX6 The lines should be added after the LOAD AFP command line. (c) Down the server and re-boot, or manually load PATCHMAN and AFPFIX5 and AFPFIX6 NLMs at the NetWare console. ÿ
