Pressing it brings up a requester. This allows you to specify how the
equation will be represented on a printed report.

"Preamble" is a section of text that will be written before the equation

"Equation" is the equation in text form.

"ID"       is a short message that will be displayed to the right of
           the equation - useful for numbering equations.
           
"C Normal" Allows you to determine the type of box that will be drawn 
           around the equation.
           
"Postamble" Is a section of text that will be printed after the equation.
