Moika Embankment, 94 1760s. Architect J.-B. Vallin de la Mothe. Rebuilt in the 1830s, architect A.Mikhailov the 2nd. In 1760 another story was added to the original small two-story house and it was enlarged. The center of the main fasade is marked out by a six-column portico that united the two lower stories; the third story remained an attic. In the course of the following reconstruction a wing was added to the old house parallel to the embankment; it contained gala halls of striking grandeur.Since 1830 the palace was owned by Prince N.Yusupov, one of the richest men in Russia.
