The Europe Hotel is one of the best hotels in 
Petersburg. The comfortable hotel lavishly 
decorated in the eclectic style was erected on 
the site of the former G.Kleie hotel and a 
rooming-house. The new interiors in the 
Art-Nouveau style were performed in 1905 to a 
design by K.McKensen and in 1908-14-to those 
by Lidval. In 1908 the Fifth story was added, 
where in 1910 the famous Roof restaurant was 
opened, with a summer hall and a garden. In 
1988-91 the hotel was fully reconstructed to 
meet the modern requirements.
