NAME
rntool - window-based interface for news
SYNOPSIS

DESCRIPTION
Rntool
is a window-based interface to the rn(1) program for reading news
in the SunView environment on a Sun workstation. The window is
opened as a icon initially. The icon indicates whether there is any
news to be read. Additionally, the bell is sounded when new news
arrives, and rn is automatically invoked. The news may then be
read by opening the window and using rn in the normal way. If
there is no new news available, rn may still be invoked by
opening the window. The window is automatically closed on exit from
rn.
Some commands may be entered using a mouse-selectable menu at the top
of the window if desired. Pressing the left mouse button invokes the
default action; pressing the right mouse button may display a sub-menu
for further selection of actions.
The $NEWSPROG environment variable may be used to specify
another news reading program if desired. However the menu provided has
been specifically tailored for the default program, rn.
