You can change the name of a token that you have imported to a device.
Note: If your administrator has disabled the Change Token Name option, this option is not displayed in the SecurID desktop application, and you cannot rename tokens.
When issuing you a token, your administrator may assign the token a nickname (for example, "My VPN Token"). After you import the token, this nickname is displayed at the top left of the SecurID desktop application. If the administrator does not assign a nickname, the application displays the token's serial number, for example, 000056781234.
If you have more than one token, renaming them allows you to quickly identify and select the one that you need to access a specific resource.
When you open the Change Token Name dialog box, the name of the token that you are currently using is displayed. To change the name of a different token, you must first select that token, as described in Select a Token.
To change a token name:
Click Options > Manage Token, and select Change Token Name from the list.
In the Change Name
field, type the new name.
The token name can contain from 1 to 24 alphanumeric characters and
must be unique.
Click OK.
If prompted, enter the device password.
Click OK.
