SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

System Requirements

Windows Recommended
Processor Pentium 100 Mhz or better
Operating System Windows 95/98/SE/ME/2000
RAM 32MB or better
Available hard disk space*
  For Internet Explorer 5.5 - 26 Mb
  For EarthLink 5.0 - 20 Mb
  Other applications - varies

Modem (Analog or DSL) 33.6 KB or better
Sound Card Preferred **
Monitor resolution 800x600 or better

* Free disk space for Internet Explorer 5.5 and EarthLink 5.0 may exceed
these values - Windows itself uses a significant amount of disk space as
virtual memory.  If your computer has limited free disk space, consider
deleting extraneous files and defragmenting your computer before installing
EarthLink 5.0. 
** Required to run EarthLink Tutorials or to hear EarthLink Hints.


INSTALLING EARTHLINK 5.0
=========================

To begin installation, insert the CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.
The Setup program will automatically be run from the CD-ROM. If it
does not start automatically, do the following:

1. Click the Start menu and then click Run.
2. Type: "D:\Windows\Setup.exe", where D: is the drive letter of your CD-ROM
   drive.

NOTE to Customers of previous versions of TotalAccess:
If you have a previous version of TotalAccess on your machine, the
installation program will attempt to convert any existing accounts
to EarthLink 5.0.  No attempt is made to overwrite, modify or
upgrade your existing version.


UNINSTALLING EARTHLINK 5.0
===========================

To uninstall EarthLink 5.0, carry out the following procedure:

1. Close any EarthLink programs that are running (EarthLink 5.0, 
   EarthLink Toolbar, etc.).
2. Click the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click
   Control Panel.
3. Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
4. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click EarthLink 5.0,
   and then click Remove.

NOTE: Some files may not be deleted during uninstall if they are
      in-use. These files will be removed when Windows is
      restarted.
