	Despite O'Brien's reasonable tone, Patrick takes it 
	hard -- his features crumple, and he starts to cry. 
	O'Brien doesn't know what to make of it --

					O'BRIEN
			I didn't mean to... it's just
			that...

	As Patrick's sobs intensify, O'Brien looks over to 
	Bashir --

27D  RESUME SCENE 

	The MUSIC reaches its climax, and as it ends, Lauren 
	twirls back onto the couch. Jack bows, thanking her 
	for the dance. The music's absence allows Bashir to 
	hear Patrick's muffled sobs. He looks over at O'Brien, 
	who gives him a helpless shrug.

					BASHIR
				(crossing over)
			What did you do?

					O'BRIEN
			Nothing.

					BASHIR
				(comforting him)
			Patrick, what is it?

					PATRICK
			He doesn't like me.

	Bashir frowns at O'Brien --

					O'BRIEN
			Sure I do.

	Not knowing what else to do, O'Brien takes the hat and 
	puts it on his head.

					O'BRIEN
			See?

	But he doesn't get the reaction he was hoping for --

					LAUREN
			He doesn't like any of us.

					O'BRIEN
				(what am I supposed to 
				do?)
