27   THE SCENE - FULL

	Garak sits in front of Sisko's desk.  He's his pleasant, 
	plain-old-simple self.  Bashir is standing off to the side, 
	embarrassed and upset...

					SISKO
			Obviously.

					BASHIR
			Garak, you know you made it perfectly 
			clear that Dukat couldn't care less 
			about those war orphans.

					GARAK
				(to Sisko)
			The Doctor and I did discuss the 
			tragic circumstances of the children.  
			But I would never suggest that Gul 
			Dukat...

					BASHIR
			You did.  You did.
				(to Sisko)
			He did.

					SISKO
				(be quiet)
			Doctor.

					GARAK
			Doctor Bashir, I apologize if I've 
			inadvertently put you in an awkward 
			position...

					SISKO
			Sorry to put you to this trouble.

					GARAK
			Not at all.

	He rises to leave.  Bashir shakes his head in frustration.  
	As Garak reaches the door...
