Answer File = Oeminfo.ini

The [General] section contains entries for adding text to the General tab in System Properties that identifies your company, the model of the computer, and where customers can find product support information. This section is required in Oeminfo.ini.

Entry Description
Manufacturer Specifies the name of the company that manufactured the computer.
Model Specifies the name of this particular model line.
SupportURL Specifies the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) of your company's product support resource, which Windows Update displays as a link for your customers.

This sample demonstrates one use of the [General] section of Oeminfo.ini.

Manufacturer = Fabrikam
Model = Fabrikam DTP/433
SupportURL = http://www.fabrikam.com

Manufacturer

Specifies the name of the company that manufactured the computer.

Syntax Manufacturer = manufacturer name
Value string

Do not leave any trailing spaces at the end of this string. Required.

Important

  • You must make sure that you specify your company name in the Manufacturer entry for Oeminfo.ini before you preinstall Microsoft® Windows®. If Windows cannot find a value for this entry, end users cannot access critical product support information.

Model

Specifies the name of this particular model line.

Syntax Model = model name and number
