Welcome to Comic Book Library! With this program you can keep track of your comic book collection. Whether you are a casual buyer or a serious investor, this program will help you keep track of all the important pieces of data on each book. You can sort your library by title, writer, artist, hero, or villian. Also, print out detailed reports on each title or an overall listing of the library. The Appraiser keeps you up to date with your collection's overall value. Have fun and, if you find this program useful, please register it for future updates, etc. Here you can select by which sort field you wish to access the data base. Also for easier data entry, access the title base and fill out all the requested info on each title. This will make the regular updating of your library less of a chore. You may also query the data base by first selecting a title, and then an issue. This makes searching through a large library a lot faster. This is a record selection table. It assists you in finding a book by the sort field you have selected. You can use the arrow, PgUp, or PgDn keys (Cntrl-PgUp for top of list, Cntrl-PgDn for bottom of list) to highlight the book and press enter, or type in the first few characters in the search string and the program will jump to that record. Then press Enter. To delete a record, highlight it and press Delete. To add a record, press Ins for a data input form. Once you are finished, the program will automatically insert it in the proper sort order. This is the data input form for Comic Book Library. The basic fields are required to be filled out (and will beep if you try to skip them) but the rest are there to be used if you wish to track that information. For easier data input (if you have filled in the Title Data Base) press F5 at the title field. You will be given a list of titles to choose from. Select one as you would from a query table. The publisher, artist, writer, price, and value will be filled in as defaults. You can still change these if you wish. Also, press F2 if you wish to enter free form comments. Type in the three letter abbreviation for the month of this issue. If it is a biweekly issue, use EDEC & LDEC for Early and Late December, DEC1 & DEC2, or whatever you wish. Some issues are a part of a titled series in the comic. If that is so, type in the name of the story and issue within that story in the next two fields. If there is no title, you can make up your own to remind you of the plot. This is the cover price for the book. It is NOT the back issue price you may have paid in the store. This data is used to track appreciation in value. This is the current appraised value of the book. This figure is used in the overall appraisal of your collection. Change this field as your book appreciates in value. This is the report menu. You can either print a report on your entire collection which lists Title, Issue, Publisher, Value, Amount of each Book, and Total Value on each book (totalling the last three columns), or on one title which lists Issue Number, Story Title, Book in Story, Value, Amount, and Total Value (again totalling the last three columns). This is the Title Data Base. To select a record, just point and shoot. To delete, highlight and press Delete. To add, press Insert and fill out the form. The record will be automatically inserted in sort order. It is recommended that you fill out this data base early to make future data entry less tedious. This is the Query Table for the Library. It is not to be used for initial data entry, only for looking up a book or changing the data. Select the title. The program will then list all books in your library with that title in issue number order. Then select an issue number and press enter. The record form will then appear.
