Quine's IDA Page

Why

There just isn't a great source of detailed IDA information out there. If I actually keep this up, this should be it. However, unless people take an active interest and submit some ideas, plugins, scripts, etc., it will die very soon. So, please let me know what you think and what you're working on. I'd love to post people's contributions.

What's On the Site

First, look to the left. This isn't really a site for IDA beginners. I don't plan to write any How-To-Use-IDA tutorials. My interests run mainly to Win32 (WinNT really) disassembly, so there is a definite bias toward that on the site. However, I would be very pleased to post information concerning other platforms/processors from other people. I don't want this to be a Win32 only site.

The Future

While only some of the sections on this site have useful or interesting things at the moment, I hope that they will fill out quickly. Provided I get some positive response, things should be added on a regular basis. Also, I'd like to set up a message board for active discussion. If anyone has any useful tips on the best way to do that, let me know.

Me

I suppose some people may have seen my name come up in connection with IDA before. There was a certain web site (now gone I believe) on which I posted a little essay, a year and a half ago or so, about how to convert an earlier demo version of IDA into what amounted to essentially the full version. However, I am now a proud owner of a legitimately licensed copy of IDA and I hope that everyone else who seriously uses it is too. The point of this is:

- DO NOT ASK ME HOW TO CRACK IDA

- DO NOT ASK ME WHERE YOU CAN GET AN ILLEGIMATE COPY OF IDA

- DO NOT THINK THAT BY STEALING IDA YOU WILL NOT GO TO HELL

If you would like a copy of IDA, the fine people at www.datarescue.com will be happy to help you.
