Installation _____________________ Please refer to the booklet that came with your CD-ROM for instructions on how to install PUZZLEMANIA. Here is a recap: For Windows 3.1 1. Insert PUZZLEMANIA into your CD-ROM drive 2. Open the Program Manager window, click file to display the File menu, and then click Run 3. In the Command Line box, type "d (or the drive letter for the CD-ROM drive):\setup" 4. Click OK or press enter 5. Follow the PUZZLEMANIA Installer directions 6. Double-click the PUZZLEMANIA icon in the PUZZLEMANIA program group For Windows 95 1. Insert PUZZLEMANIA into your CD-ROM drive 2. From the Start menu, click file to display the File menu, and then click Run 4. In the Open: box, type "d (or the drive letter for the CD-ROM drive):\setup" 5. Click OK or press enter 6. Follow the PUZZLEMANIA Installer directions 7. From the Start menu, select the "Puzzlemania" program group and click on the "Puzzlemania" icon. ______________________ B. Tips & Hints _____________________ GENERAL HINTS 1. Review the instructions in the booklet that came with PUZZLEMANIA 2. Be sure to exit all other programs before you start 3. If things run slowly, try restarting your computer then opening PUZZLEMANIA first 4. Turn off any screensavers MEMORY You will need 5 megabytes of available RAM to run PUZZLEMANIA. Machines with less RAM may have problems, especially with sound and animation. VIDEO You need to have your monitor set to display 256 colors (8-bit color). If you are using a 13" or 14" multiple resolution monitor, we recommend that you have it set to display 640x480 pixels so things are easier to see. SKIPPING THE MAIN MENU If you would like to skip the introductory sequence, hold down the SHIFT key and the Z key immediately after opening PUZZLEMANIA. ____________________ C. Known Problems ____________________ MY PUZZLES After you have added your favorite puzzles using the "+ Puzzles -" button, you will need to keep at least two puzzles in your puzzle suitcase at all times. If you want to delete these puzzles, first add two more puzzles and then go back and delete the ones that you don't want. ___________________ D. Stuff for Grown Ups ___________________ You can access the adult version of Find It by holding down the shift key while clicking on the scrolling Find It menu car. Adult Find It contains pre-sorted puzzle lists that will help your child exercise a particular skill. ___________________ E.
