Ave parecida al Veterano, una especie común, pero la mancha alrededor del ojo es más estrecha y roja, y la rabadilla es oscura en vez de roja. Tamaño: 9-10 cm. Oriundo de las sabanas del oeste y el centro de África. Fue introducida a los pastizales y áreas cultivadas de Puerto Rico problemente desde Mali o Senegal.
