Using Account Setup Wizard to help you find a service provider

If you need to choose and sign up with a service provider, Account Setup Wizard gathers information from you and helps you do the following:
This chapter tells you what information Account Setup Wizard needs, and tells you how to use Account Setup Wizard.

Tips on choosing an Internet service provider

When you use Account Setup Wizard to find a service provider, you'll get to look at several service providers before you choose. Many service providers offer different payment plans and options. Here are some tips to help you choose the best service provider for your needs.

Payment plans

Carefully read about each service provider's payment plans. Different service providers offer plans for different needs. For example, one service provider might offer a monthly fee of $10 for 10 hours of connection time, and $2 per hour for every additional hour. Another service provider might offer unlimited connection time for one fee of $20 per month. Although the second payment plan sounds like a good deal, the first payment plan might be better for you if you think you'll be on the Internet fewer than 15 hours per month.

Publishing accounts

Some service providers offer publishing accounts. Whereas basic Internet access, lets you browse the Web, publishing accounts let you browse the Web and publish your own documents on the Web. For an overview of how this works, see Introduction in the User's Guide. If you're interested in a publishing account, look for service providers that offer them.
