Photo/Graphic Edges is a plug-in that can apply stylized edge effects to any image. There should be an Adobe Acrobat .pdf plug-in that came with this software. We encourage you to read it as it has information on how to achieve the best effects.
Take a look at the PDF manual.

A. Minimum Requirements
-----------------------
Photo/Graphic Edges 3.0 is a plug-in requiring installation
with one of the host applications listed in Section B
before it can be used. Minimum hardware requirements are
a 486/66DX system with at least 16 MB RAM and a scratch disk
space available of 3 to 5 times the image size. The operating
system must be Windows 95 or Windows NT Version 3.2 or higher.
This Windows 95/NT version of Photo/Graphic Edges 3.0 is
installed by double-clicking on the file Setpex.exe. During the
installation process the appropriate version of this software is installed on
your computer. The plug-in is named afxpge32.8bf. An Auto F/X > PGE
folder is also created under the plug-ins folder which contains this
README file.
The Sample edge file is installed on your hard drive and is
placed in the Auto F/X > PGE > Edges folder.
B. Compatible Programs
----------------------
Photo/Graphic Edges 3.0 for Windows 95/NT has been qualified
to work with the following host applications:
Image Editing Applications:
Canvas 5.0
Fractal Painter 4.0.3
Paint Shop Pro 4.1
PhotoPaint 6.0, 7.0
PhotoDeluxe 1.0
Photoshop 3.0, 4.0
Page Layout and Illustration Programs:
Pagemaker 6.0, 6.5
Freehand 7.0
C. Installing the Plug-in
-------------------------
You will be asked when installing the plug-in to select the
folder for your application's Photoshop compatible plug-ins.
Photo/Graphic Edges should appear in the menu where Photoshop
plug-ins reside. Depending on the application, you may have to
identify (usually through Preferences) the folder where the
plug-in resides. Consult your host application's manual or call
their tech support if you need further assistance in determining
where Photoshop plug-ins go and how to access them.
For Pagemaker and Freehand, fixed locations for the plug-ins
are used. You must install the plug-in in these locations for
the host application to access the plug-in properly:
PageMaker: Pm6/Rsrc/Usenglsh/Plugins/Effects
Freehand: Fh7/Usenglsh/Xtras
Note - You may need to substitute "Usenglsh" with your
international version folder name if required.
For other applications, you can typically place the plug-ins
in any folder but you may have to initialize the location
using the application's Preferences. The following application
reference list identifies where you set the plug-ins' location:
Canvas: Preference > Painting > Plug-ins
Fractal Painter: Edit > Preferences > Plug-ins
Paint Shop Pro: Preferences > General Program Prefences >
Plug-in Filters
Photo-paint: Tools > Options > Plug-in Filters
PhotoDeluxe: File > Preferences > Plug-ins
Photoshop: File > Preferences > Plug-ins
D. Running the Plug-in from your Host Application
-------------------------------------------------
To set up the effect in an image-editing application,
you must first have a file open. If there is a selection,
the effect will be applied to the selected area only; if
there is no selection, the effect is applied to the entire
image. To set up the effect in a layout or illustration
program, you must have first placed an image and have the
picture box or image area for the effect selected for the
plug-in to be available in the plug-ins menu.
If you have set up the image and installed the software
correctly, the Photo/Graphic Edges plug-in will be visible
from within the host application. All plug-ins from Auto F/X
are stored in a folder named Auto F/X, in the location
where plug-ins are normally shown. Because each host
application may access plug-ins differently, the following
list of host applications and related menu commands to
access Photoshop compatible plug-ins is provided.
Canvas: Image > Filter > Auto F/X
Fractal Painter: Effects > Auto F/X
Freehand: Xtras > Auto F/X
PageMaker: Element > Image > Photoshop Effects > Auto
F/X
Paint Shop Pro: Image > Plug-in Filters > Auto F/X
Photo-Paint: Effects > Auto F/X
PhotoDeluxe: Effects > Auto F/X (Set Preferences > Long
Menus)
Photoshop: Filter > Auto F/X
E. Memory Management
--------------------
Photo/Graphic Edges gets its memory from both RAM and Virtual
memory from your startup system hard drive. It is helpful to set
the RAM allocation of the host application a little higher than
normal while running this software to optimize its performance.
F. Bug Reports
-------------
If you experience a problem with Photo/Graphic Edges 3.0 that
you think might be a bug, you can report it by sending a message
to techsupport@autofx.com. Please describe what you did, the
edges and settings you used, the results, any error messages, the
computer and operating system you have, and whatever else you think might
be relevant for us to duplicate and troubleshoot the error. Your
message will be acknowledged and the bug report will be forwarded
to our design team for review.
