File menu

Command name Description Shortcut
Close Closes the active window. Click the close box in the upper-left corner of the window, or press [Command] - W.
Save Saves the information contained in the current window. Messages are automatically saved in the Outbox. Press [Command] - S.
Save As Text Saves a message as a text file.
Import Address Book Imports an address book from Eudora Pro and Eudora Light, Claris Emailer, or Netscape Navigator.
Export Address Book Exports the address book. The exported address book is a text file that can be modified.
Page Setup Changes the page setup for printing.
Print Prints the current message. Press [Command] - P.
Print One Copy Prints one copy of the current message, bypassing the Print dialog box.
Quit Closes all open windows and closes the program. Press [Command] - Q.

Edit menu

Command name Description Shortcut
Undo Undoes the last action. Press [Command] - Z.
Cut Removes the current selection and copies it onto the Clipboard. Press [Command] - X.
Copy Copies the current selection onto the Clipboard. Press [Command] - C.
Paste Inserts the contents of the Clipboard into the selected location. Press [Command] - V.
Clear Removes the current selection without copying onto the Clipboard. Press the delete key.
Select All Selects all the text or objects in the current window. Press [Command] - A.
Delete Deletes the selected mail message, address book entry, or folder. Press [Command] - D, or click the Delete button on the toolbar.
Address Book Opens the address book pop-up menu.
Columns Turns the columns in the Mail, News, Address Book, and User Group windows on or off.
Preferences Changes the preferences for Internet Mail and News. Click the Preferences button on the Mail or Newsgroups window toolbar.

Message menu

Command name Description Shortcut
New Mail Message Opens a new mail message. Press [Command] - N, or click the New Message button on the Mail window toolbar.
New Newsgroup Message Opens a new newsgroup message. Click the New Message button on the News Messages window toolbar.
Enclosures Adds or removes message enclosures. Press [Command] - E, or click the Enclosure button on the message toolbar.
Add Signature Adds your signature to a message. Click the Add Signature button on the message toolbar.
Finish Later Stores an unfinished mail message in the Outbox, but marks it so that it will not be sent. Click the Finish Later button on the message toolbar.
Unscramble (ROT13) Decodes a news message so that it can be read.
Reply To Sender Opens a reply message to the sender of a mail or news message. Press [Command] - R, or click the Reply To Sender button on the Mail window toolbar or the Reply To Author button on the News Messages window toolbar.
Reply To All Opens a reply message to all the recipients of a mail message or a newsgroup.
Forward Opens a copy of the current message, ready to be addressed and sent. Press [Command] - J, or click the Forward button on the Mail window or News Messages window toolbar.
Redirect Opens a copy of the current message, ready to be addressed and sent, but retains the original name in the From box.
Previous Shows the previous message. Click the Previous Message button on the message window toolbar.
Next Shows the next message. Click the Next Message button on the message window toolbar.
Move to Moves the message to the Inbox, Deleted Message, or a folder. You can also drag a message to a folder to move it.
Mark As Read Marks the current message as read. Press [Command] - T.
Mark As Unread Marks the current message as unread.
Show Unread Only Displays the unread messages only. Press [Command] - Y.

Mail menu

Command name Description Shortcut
New Mail Folder Creates a new mail folder.
Rename Mail Folder Renames a mail folder.
Send And Receive Sends and messages in the Outbox and downloads new mail from the mail server. Press [Command] - M, or click the Send/Receive button on the Mail window toolbar.
Send/Post Message Places the message in the Outbox, or sends it to the mail server depending on the preference setting. Press [Command] - K, or click the Send Message button on the mail message window toolbar or Post button on the News Messages window toolbar.
Save Enclosure Opens a menu of message enclosures. Choosing one will either save it to your computer or start a helper application, depending on the Preferences setting. On the message toolbar, click the Enclosures button.

News menu

Command name Description Shortcut
Download Complete Newsgroup List Downloads the newsgroup list from the news server. Press [Command] - L.
Download Updates To List Downloads only the newsgroups that have been added to the list.
Go To Newsgroup Downloads the news messages in a newsgroup. Press [Command] - G.
Show Complete Newsgroup List Displays the entire list of newsgroups. Press [Command] - H.
Get Next 500 Subjects Downloads the next 500 subjects from a newsgroup. The number depends on what you have set in Preferences; 500 is the default value.
Add Newsgroup To Favorites Subscribes you to the newsgroup by adding the newsgroup to your Favorites list. Press [Command] - =.
Remove Newsgroup From Favorites Unsubscribes you from the newsgroup by removing the newsgroup from your Favorites list. Press [Command] - -.
Go To Favorites Newsgroups Displays newsgroups you have subscribed to.
Extract Binaries Downloads attachments from news messages.
