ichat, the first plug-in and server to integrate chat directly into Netscape Navigator 2.0, permits users to communicate in real-time over the Web without learning new applications. With ichat installed, web pages become chat r ooms and web browsers become chat clients. If a user knows how to use Netscape Navigator, they know how to chat with ichat.

When users visit a chat-enabled web page, the Plug-in opens a frame in the lower part of the browser window. Within that frame, ichat displays a real-time, on-going chat session among all the visitors on that web page. Users can enter the conversation an d communicate with each other simply by typing.
