[EITAL]With a sports card (£8), almost all facilities are free.  The University offers an honours degree in Sports Science and a sports bursary where promising athletes are sponsored by local firms.[ITAL][HDNG]SPORTS FACILITIES:[EHDNG][EITAL][PARA]The University's Sports and Recreation Unit provides 45 acres of playing fields, a sports hall, tennis courts, an all-weather pitch, a climbing wall, gym, multigym and sauna. Overall, 1/3 of the block grant goes on sport.  Cleveland's sports centre is based in Middlesbrough and there is a positive flood of swimming pools.
