[HDNG]INTRODUCTION:[EHDNG][PARA][BULL] The College is part of University of Oxford and students are entitled to use its facilities.[EBOLD][PARA]Regent's Park is a very small college, [ITAL]disguised cleverly from the outside[EITAL]. With no gate or arches, its [ITAL]unassuming [EITAL]entrance, a door off the street, is typical of the whole College. It was originally established in London to train Baptist ministers and missionaries, [ITAL]but pagans won't have the Bible shoved down their throats. Regent's Park is not solely for the spiritual[EITAL] [ITAL]- it has its fair share of typical Oxford rowers and hacks[EITAL] and attracts many visiting students from the USA and elsewhere.[ITAL] [EITAL] The College has [ITAL]a homely atmosphere[EITAL] and welcomes those with families. Behind the small quad, there are flats surrounded by pushchairs and the noise of kids ([ITAL]although the authorities try to keep this within limits[EITAL]).[PARA][PARA]24-hour drinks cabinet; 30s Helwys Hall (cap 300) and JCR (60) for bands, cabaret termly and discos 2-3 times a term; lots of ad hoc ents - quiz nights, picnics, punting parties, fireworks; mini ball. [ITAL] The JCR is very active [EITAL]and votes about everything. [ITAL]Good relations with staff[EITAL]; always good on charity-churning. 3 libraries (50,000 books); 2 computers; Baptist chapel. Snooker table, but no sports fields. Rowing [ITAL]is big[EITAL]. Everyone lives in, in [ITAL]ocean liner [EITAL]type rooms or flats (walnut all-in-one units).
