The City site's include the Long Bar (which is indeed long as well as popular in the evenings) and the Blues Bar (which is indeed Blue and more of a lunchtime bar). Scraptoft's Top Bar and Venue Bar[ITAL] are comfy and big[EITAL].[PARA][BOLD]Theatres:[EBOLD] (3) The Phoenix Arts Centre is run jointly with the Leicester City Council and hosts students shows.[PARA][BOLD]Film: [EBOLD]The Film Society shows cult classics in The Arena at the city site Union Building as well as sport by satellite TV.[PARA][BOLD]Clubs/discos:[EBOLD] The Arena has recently been expanded to a capacity of 1,200 with a super sound system and MTV screen. Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights it is the top spot for a shift and shuffle. At the Scraptoft Union (cap 600), there are discos 2 nights a week.[PARA][BOLD]Music venues:[EBOLD] The Arena can pull in [ITAL]big names[EITAL] of the calibre of Blur, the Manic Street Preachers, Prodigy, Radiohead and The Grid. It specialises in indie and dance and John Peel has called it the best student venue for live bands in the country. Lower profile gigs at the Scraptoft Union.[PARA][BOLD]Cabaret:[EBOLD] Occasional cabaret nights at the city site and Scraptoft featuring smile makers such as Gerry Sadowitz and Jenny Eclair.[HDNG]EATING OUT:[EHDNG][PARA]There are 6 cafes around the University, and 4 Union cafeterias, restaurants and coffee bars (1 at Scraptoft), some of which are open till 2am when events are on.
