This version of Spite & Malice (S&M) was originally written for Windows 3.1.
It plays well (actually better) on WIN 95 or WIN NT but with the faster clock speeds, Mr. Spite makes his moves so fast that some have questioned whether or not he is cheating. Good question.
You still have all the time in the world to make your own moves.

WIN 95 users PLEASE NOTE:  Exit S&M through the FILE, EXIT command.  Do not just click on the upper right hand X closing box on the title bar that WIN 95 adds to all windows programs.  It disappears all right, but is actually still running in the background.

Installation:
Spite & Malice does not need to be installed in order to run.  You can simply copy the files into a directory you create (i.e. C:\SPITEWIN), and make your own group or desktop icon.

If you want to have S&M make a group for you, use the installation program.  The installation program was meant for installing from a diskette. After you have downloaded S&M, you can copy the files to a diskette and run the install program. 

Example - Installing from Windows V.3.1:
From the PROGRAM MANAGER choose:
	FILE and RUN
	type 	a:\install       or
		b:\install
	and follow the install program instructions.

Spite makes his own program group.  If you already have a group for games, simply drag the SPITE & MALICE icon over to that group and delete the empty SpiteWin group.  Spite does not care if you move him around.

If you have an old version of SPITE & MALICE for WINDOWS, delete 
the directory and files before using the install program.


SPITE & MALICE was created in Visual Basic V.1 by Mari J. Perez, converted from the DOS version.  I hope you enjoy it.
