Save for a device
You can save a copy of a pictureGeneral term refers to a single photo or a composite project on the canvas. to use on a handheld device. By saving this way, you optimize the appearance of the picture on the device.
To save for a device:

On the File menu, point to Save a Copy For, and then click Save for Device.

Under Select a device, click the device you want.
Picture It! will automatically select an optimal size and color setting for your device.
- Under How would you like this picture to fit in the display area, click an option.
- Click Save As.
The Save As dialog box appears.

In the Folder View list, select the folder where you want to save your picture.

In the File name box, type a file name for your picture.

In the Save as type list, click the file type for your picture.
 | Optional: Set the file type options.
Note Some file type options may not be available depending on the file type you choose.
- Click Options.
- In the Color depth list, click a color depthThe number of different colors that a monitor or digital image can display. for your picture.
- In the Compression type list, click a compression typeThe method used to compress a picture. The specific method used to compress a picture is determined by the picture file type. for your picture.
- To increase picture quality, drag the Quality level sliderA control that sets values by sliding a marker to the left or the right. to the right.
- To store a thumbnailA miniature replica of a page or photo. view of your picture used for previewing your picture, select the Store thumbnail in file check box.
- Click OK.

Click Save.
The folder you saved the picture to appears, with the picture open.

Your device may not accept all custom sizes and color settings.
