Apply a stamped edge
Stamped edges add an outline of a stamp shape around an objectA part of a picture, including shapes, text boxes, or lines that can be edited individually. The order of objects can be changed by using the Stack. or pictureGeneral term refers to a single photo or a composite project on the canvas.. You can change the stamped edge width, color, and shape. In addition, you can create a stamped edge using a custom shape.


To add a stamped edge:

Select the picture or object to which you want to apply the edge effect.

On the Effects menu, point to Edges, and then click Stamped.

Under Click a stamping style, click a style of stamped edge.

Under Click a stamp, select a stamp.
 | Optional: Customize the edge effect.
- Click Customize the edge.
- To increase the edge width, drag the slider to the right.

Under Click a color, select a color.

To choose a custom color, do the following:
- Click More color choices.
The center of the color wheel displays the currently selected color.
- To change the color hueA particular gradation of color, such as red, green, or blue., move the yellow circle around the outside of the color wheel.
- To change the color saturationThe intensity of a color., move the blue circle left or right.
- To change the color brightnessThe amount of light that an image appears to emit., move the blue circle toward or away from the center of the circle.
- Click Done.
- Click Done.

To add a custom stamped edge:

Select the picture or object to which you want to apply the edge effect.

On the Effects menu, point to Edges, and then click Stamped.

Under Click a stamping style, click a style of stamped edge.

Click Custom stamp.

In the Files paletteThe palette in the workspace that holds all currently opened picture files., double-click the picture you want to use as a stamp.

Use a different picture.
- To use a picture from the GalleryA clip art collection you can use for creating projects and pictures., click Look in the Gallery.
- To use a picture that is on your computer, click Open a picture.
- To use a picture that you want to scan, click Scan in a picture.
- To use a picture that is on a digital camera, click Download from digital camera.

- Click Customize the edge.
- To increase the edge width, drag the slider to the right.

Tips
- If you apply an edge to a picture that fills the canvasThe white area on the workspace that represents the printable portion of the picture., you must resize the picture to ensure that the edge prints correctly.
- To select multiple objects, press CTRL, and then select the objects you want.

Note
You can only change the color of solid-colored stamped edge shapes.
