Use sharpening and blurring tools

You can use the following tools to change the degree of sharpness:

• Sharpen or Blur This easy-to-use tool allows you to either sharpen or blur a picture. However, with this tool you can only apply a slight sharpening or blurring effect to a picture.
• Unsharp Mask Despite its name, the Unsharp Mask tool is actually a powerful sharpening tool that provides fine-tune control over the degree of sharpening you apply. It also has preset options that are easy to use, including one for portraits.
• Gaussian Blur The Gaussian Blur tool helps you to apply a blur to your picture that ranges from slight to significant. Because of this capability, it's a good tool to use if you want to selectively blur an area of a picture, such as the background.
