Learn as much as you can about your audience before the
presentation. This will help with tailoring your presentation and in handling questions
or difficult people.
- Who is the audience?
- Why are they present?
- What do they expect?
- What do they already know about the subject?
- What is their level of experience or interest in the subject?
- Are they likely to be interested, apathetic, or hostile?
- What is their attitude towards you as the presenter?
- What do they perceive as your role in the presentation?
- What do you need from them?
- Do they know what you need from them?
- What do they perceive as their role role in the presentation?
- What is it that they really want to know about, given the material that you have?
