Retired military info by Gene Blair Fri Nov 08 1991 ------------------------------- This is to all searchers of military retirees: The Privacy Act of 1974 prevents the arbitrary release of names and addresses, but each service operates a locator service, and will for- ward any correspondence. On one envelope write the grade and name of the person in the address block and your return address in the normal corner. Stamp the envelope and enclose your message. Insert this en- velope into another with your return address and addressed as below. Use the retiree's first, middle if known, last names. Include for the locator service a data sheet with as much as possible, service back- ground, grade, duty stations, SSAN, schooling, etc., with known dates. Send this package to one of the following: Army: Army Reserve Personnel Center, ATTN: DARP-PAS-EVS, 9700 Page Blvd., St. Louis, MO, 63132-5200. Navy: Commanding Officer, Naval Reserve Personnel Center, Code 41, New Orleans, LA, 70149-7800. Do NOT put return address on envelope to be forwarded.
