Drawing on the vast collections of the MusΘe national d'art moderne Centre de crΘation industrielle, "Made in France: 1947-1997" offers a free and interdisciplinary interpretation of creative activity in France over the past fifty years. It provides an opportunity to recall the diversity of the collections and, by extension, the unique position of Paris and of the French scene as an international melting pot of artistic creation. The works are grouped together--by affinity or contrast--around those figures who, whatever their country of origin, have chosen to work in France and have come to be recognized by the MusΘe national d'art moderne.
