1. NEW SOFTWARE
=============================================================================

As of today, the 3rd of May, new software is now available from the
PhotoFolio home page http://mafeking.scouts.org.au/photofolio.

A beta testing program is currently being established. Check out the home
page menu for further information.

A list of the new software follows. For futher information check out the
PhotoFolio home page.

i)   Install PhotoFolio 2.1
       No!, this is not a PhotoFolio program update, rather an updated
       installer script for the PhotoFolio release CD.

ii)  imageio.library 3.0
       An updated version of imageio.library with some new enhancements and
       preferences program.

iii) PhotoFolio Catalogs 1.0
       New and updated PhotoFolio languange catalogs (Includes Italiano,
       Deutsch, Czech, Français and Nederlands).

iv)  PFSysInfo 1.2
       Updated to return even more information on your
       system/files/libraries/devices etc used by PhotoFolio.

v)   PFConvert 1.0
       At last you can convert your thumbnails your created ages ago on
       older software across to PhotoFolio. *You need the new
       imageio.library 3.0 above to use PFConvert*. The convertable formats
       are:

         1. PhotoAlbum
             PhotoAlbum is Copyright © by Helmut Hoffmann

             Both catalogs and individual thumbnails are supported. The
             following internal formats are supported:
               PPM - datatype required
               RGBN - datatype required
               IFF
               JFIF

             The following internal formats are not supported:
               HHTC24L
               TGA - datatype required (no compatible datatype found)


         2. PicManager Pro (PMPro)
             PicManager Pro is Copyright © 1994-97 by Juergen Schaefer

             Both colour and greyscale catalogs are supported in all
             resolutions.


         3. PicView
             PicView is Copyright ©1995-96 Holger Papajewski

             All true colour, colour and greyscale projects are supported.


         4. Collector 3.5
             Collector 3.5 is Copyright ©1996-98 Frédéric Calendini

             Collector 3.5 .idx files. 16 colour grey, 256 colour grey and
             256 colour formats.
