Frodo Download Page

I do not plan on keeping older versions of Frodo on my page, however I will always include the last release and a sneak preview of the newest release.

Frodo 4.1 for Windows 32 bit system (approx. 800 K)

Frodo 4.1 Source code for Visual C++ 4.0

And here is a sneak preview of the next version of Frodo (Preview 1 on 2/98) for Windows 32 bit systems. I have added many features to the Windows 32 bit system that may or may not make the final cut for all platforms in the next release. The features are here for your evaluation and feedback. Plus, let me know if a 4.1 game suddenly stopped working in this preview release. Added features:

  • Create .D64 blank disk files from the menu
  • Associate Snapshot files with Frodo and have it automatically run Frodo when you double click on the snapshot.
  • Various emulation improvements to all flavors of the emulator
  • Improved browsing in preferences
  • Additional hotkeys
  • MouseStick (simulate the joystick using the mouse. Right click on the window to enable)
  • Ability to save long filenames with spaces in the preferences
  • Breakpoint functionality in SAM (for both C64 and 1541)
  • 5 on keypad is now the same as joystick down for easier keypad joystick movement.
  • Tab key is now the control key for proper key placement compared to the C-64.
  • Optimized graphics display for 8-bit color modes
  • .lnx and .x64 extensions recognized without having to rename them

These preview features are only available on the win32 version. If approved, they will appear on the other ports. As always, you can obtain the 4.0.2 source from J Richard Sladkey's FTP site (it is the last one he ever maintained) and you can obtain other platforms from Christian Bauer's site.

Frodo is freeware. All I am asking in return is that you refer any contractors/subcontractors/home builders to my business page at http://www.utw.com/~bidrite. BidRite is an estimating/bidding package that can be mastered in only 30 minutes. It is designed to bid the way the contractor bids. Our customers have reported from 50 to 100% increase in profit. Pays for itself the first time you catch a mistake.

The more sales I can make with the commercial bidrite package, the more time I can spend working on things I enjoy -- like emulator enhancements.
