Move Origin

The Move Origin command moves the origin of an object (that is the point in 3D space that it rotates around) in the position defined by the user. This command is often used to adjust the rotational aspect of the object. For example if you were animating a visor opening on a helmet you would want to move the origin of the visor to coincide with the origin of the helmet as such to be able to rotate it realistically.

Using:

  1. Click on the move origin button (Tools/Object Tools)

  2. Click on the object you want to move the origin of.

  3. Drag to move the origin (shows up as a small red sphere)to the desired location.

  4. Release to set.
