Hi,
I am planning to go to Myanmar (Burma), and have the
following questions:
1. is it possible to cross the Myanmar border from Thailand?
2. if so, are there special precautions? do-s and don't-s?
3. want to give me any special advice on Myanmar?
Thanks very much, best regards, Bouke

  2. Myanmar for a day Added by: Drew

You can cross from Mae Sae to Tachelik for about 5 dollars.
I don't think that you need a visa, they just hold it at
the boarder for a day. You can probably cross at three
pagodas pass for a day, not sure. These boarder towns are
mostly Shan or Karen. If you want to see the real Myanmar
you should fly from Bangkok or Chang Mai to Yangon. It
would be much better that one day at a boarder point.
Hopefully, one day the flight from Chang Mai to Mandalay
will be open, then stoping over for a visit in Myanmar will
    be all the easier.
