Hi Daniel! And anyone else interested! I felt I had to
give some advice seeing I just recieved some! I loved
ASIA! All of it! I spent 7 months as a single female
traveller without a hitch! There is absolutely nothing to
worry about Daniel it is sooooooooo safew it is amazing! I
have been home three years now so maybe things have changed
a bit but I doubt it! There are soooo many great places to
see. If you can I highly reccomend Vietnam! it was my
favourite! Try and get out on the cities especially
Bangkok, one-two days is more than enough in Bangkok.
Southern and Northern Thailand are both excellent. I
didn't take Malaria pills and it was no problem. The train
in Thailand is incredible (sleeper cars)! Asia is a back
packers haven! ENJOY!!!!!! If you have questions feel
    free to e mail me!

Hello Daniel ! I agree wholeheartedly with Tammy's
observations. I too am a solo backpacker and was in the
three countries you mentioned this past November - it
was the best trip I've had to date. In fact, I'm returning
again this fall. The only problem you may have is
deciding where/what to eat next - all 3 countries are
great and filled with very friendly people.
Relax and enjoy your trip - I cant wait to get back!
    Happy travels!

  5. GO, you'll love it ! Added by: nathalie (nathalieyes@hotmail.com)

I can only agree with Bruce and Tammy ! I've been to Asia
(the last time in february), i always travelled by myself
and never had any problems ! Actually, i felt safer in most
parts of Asia then at home (and i live in Switzerland).
I guess it would be nice to start your trip in a place where
you can relax, get used to the change of climate, culture,
food... Bali would be a good place for that or Thailand
(Bangkok and then going south for beaches or north for
temples and culture). It's no problem at all to met other
travellers... SEA is full of Backpackers, many are
travelling on their own and are looking for company.
I recommend travelling with LP guidebooks. Just choose a
"popular" guest house upon arrival... many other people do,
so your bound to meet fellow backpackers.
You dont have to worry about safety too much in Thailand,
Malaysia and Indonesia. Just use your common sense and a
moneybelt for your valuables. Also i never got really sick
on any of my trips. I dont recommend taking malaria pills -
the only ones still working contain lariam and thats really
strong on your body (side effects include depressions and
lose of hair). If you have moscito repellent and a net you
    should be fine.
If you have any specific questions you can send me an email.
I really think you should go for it... travelling in SEA is
great and its very likely that after 3 months you'll wish
you could go on and on...
    Enjoy your trip !
