bangkok to ko samui

anyone know if it is possible to book a sleeper berth on the
rapid train to surat thani in June on same day as travel.

   If you can't get a berth, just go second class. The second
   class seats recline and are fairly comfortable. But I'd
   still rather have a berth if I could -- even though they
   tuck you in around 8 PM and chuck you out at about 7 AM!

   I tried this (asking for a sleeper on the spot) at least
   three times and failed.
   It took between 2 and 5 days wait but I don't remember the
   time of year.

   .... at the railway station Chris, just get a travel agent
   to do it for you (by telephone), then the travel agent will
   give you the tickets "on the spot" in their office.
