Anyone taken the slowboat from Cebu, Phil to Sandakan,
Borneo. It appears quite cheap...flights are too
expensive. Wondering about pirates, safety, etx

Are you sure that there is a ferry going from Cebu to
Borneo? I just know a ferry from Zamboangoa (Mindanao) to
Borneo.
Hi...gerald's right...I never heard of a ferry service from
Cebu, only from Zamboanga to Sandakan. Please be careful,
it's a pirate infected area.
Ya..what I find in the Cebu shipping guide is a slow boat
from Cebu with stopover in Zamboango and on to
Sankakan...total of P800 one way. Flying is $330 plus round
trip. Do any of you have more info about the
dangers..pirates etc. Have you taken the boat from
Zamboanga to Sandakan?

Hi,
I live in Sabah and often take the ferry to Zambo and and
back to Sandakan. I have also bought private bouts down
throuh the Sulu Sea on several occasions.
You will have to change boats in Zambo, the best ferry is
the Sampagita 2 which sails from Zambo every Tuesday and
Thursday but check this before you go a couple of times I
have been caught because the boat did not sail for one
reason or another.
There are four berth cabins for P800.00 that you can get
for your self.
If you need more information on what to do when you get to
Sabah, contact a company in Sempora called Asiaconect
asiaconect@hotmail.com .
They can give you good information on best places to stay
budget diving Island stays and jungle tours.
Forget the piriates, maybe you will get lucky and meet a few
have somthing to tell your grand kids???
Cheers
