I'm hoping to go to Krabi or Phi Phi for millenium with a
fairly large group of people. I've been to Ko Phangan and
Ko Tao before but not Krabi and Phi Phi. They look really
beautiful and i've read that the snorkelling and diving is
really good, but my freinds arent convinced that we'll be
able to find accomodation and something good to do on new
years eve. Can anyone recommend a nice, mid to high price
bungalow operation on Phi Phi or around Krabi which will
take (and keep!) advance bookings from the uk ?? (I've tried
the internet ones on the Thai Tourist site but they are
mostly pricey hotels)
Also - any recommendations for new years eve? are there
beach parties on Phi Phi or is it more club/bar based??
Last time i went to Phangan i thought it had become dirty
and generally nasty - so i dont want to go to Phi Phi if its
been spoiled too. Also, i dont want to go somewhere too
quiet!!
Any suggestions would be

Sounds like a nice idea in theory, I'll be in the area for
the millenium with a few friends and I too am a little
concerned about accomodation. Samui last Christmas and new
year was packed and dirty and overbooked so boing over the
other side sounds like a good move. There has, however, been
a lot of coverage about the damage that the filming of The
Beach has done to Phi Phi though and also the damage that
boats in the area have done to the reefs. I don't know how
this will affect the tourist industry but no doubt it will
follow in the footsteps of Samui and Phangan within time. I
too like the look of the cliffs of Krabi and seek the
elusive millenium beach party but I don't reckon you'll
really know until you get out there exactly where it will
be....
Any good Thai Millenium suggestions out there? KO SAMUI?
Ralei Bay? Others?
