Cycling in North Sulawesi

I am an avid cyclist. I also hate dragging a bicycle with me
on airplanes if I can get a good one at the place where I am
going.
So, I have started cycling tours of North Sulawesi,
featuring the Minihasa Highlands, just 25 km. out of Manado,
and Gorontalo, 425 km., the stepping-stone to the Togian
Islands.
There are many beautiful places to bike to, but no guides at
the moment, so I shall be happy to do so myself. Next trip
is scheduled for 15 July. I will provide the bikes on-site,
and take care of things for cyclists as we cycle. Most trips
are day-trips, so we return to a nice cozy place (Wawo Hotel
in Minihasa, and the Hotel Melati in Gorontalo) at night.
There are lakes, volcanoes, and lovely scenic coastline
(Gorontalo, especially). Outrigger canoe sailing is also
available in Gorontalo.
If you would like to join me, please email me as soon as
possible so I can prepare an estimate tailored to what you
would like to do before we set off.
Kind regards,

Rich, my girlfriend and I will be going to Sulawesi in January for a month and going on what I've read I'd like to spend some time seeing the Northern Peninsula. Your cycling tours sound like a perfect way of seeing some of the spots so, if you're still around in January 2000 I'd have to say I'm interested. Cheers from Australia.

  2. Cycling, YEAAH!! Added by: Vince (vinni@tref.nl)

    Hi Rich and Robin,
I'll probably go to North Sulawesi around August/September
to cycle around the Sangihe/Talaud islands.
It sure is the best way to explore unbeaten tracks and meet
    with the locals.
Two and a half years ago I've travelled through Ambon,
Ternate, Halmahera, and Morotai on my mountainbike.
    Great trip!!
    Have a look at:

It's my illustrated travelstory on this trip.
    Enjoy it!
    Cheers,
