Anyone recently done the ferry trip from Langkawi to Satun
in Malaysia?? Would appreciate info on frequency of ferry,
cost and whether there is anything in Satun worth looking at
before heading into Thailand.
Any info on Twin Peaks Resort in Langkawi would also be
appreciated.
Thks

  1. ferry to Satun Added by: Scott

I tried to take the ferry in January but couldn't becuase of
a holiday. Make sure there are no holidays (on both sides).
I believe the cost was about 20 ringgit, maybe more, but not
ridiculous. The ferry goes at 10 am. I think there are other
ferries later in the day but I'm not sure. Satun has nothing
to see but the Tarotao area has , in my opinion the best
islands in Thailand, so don't rush up north.
We stayed at the federal lodge in Langkawi, a 4 star place ,
for only 96 ringit during the high season. I recommend it.

Currently in Langkawi with 11 days left of my holiday.
Wanted to go somwhere a bit livelier. Thinking of Penang or
Phuket. Does anyone have any advice on which place to go to
or any other alternatives that have a beach and some
    nightlife.
