Does anyone know if it is possible for Russian to apply
on-spot Thailand Visa upon arrival at Bangkok Airport? How
much does it cost and how long will be the duration?
Also would it be better to visit Thai islands around the
beginning of August or to visit Mauritius, in term of cost,
lodging, food, service and activities available?
Thanks in advance for any advices. Spasiba!
Yura

    Dear Yura,
Please check with the nearest Thai embassy or consulate to
find out of Russia is on the list of 50+ countries with a
    30-day gratis visa upon arrival.
If not, 90-day visas are also available at Thai embassies
and consulates. I am not sure of the cost, but it was around
$20 or $25 last year, if I am not mistaken.
The Thai islands are much cheaper than Mauritius, although
the Andaman Sea (west coast) has heavy rain. Samui Island
and its neighbors, Koh Pangan and Koh Tao, have good weather
in August, with some rain starting in September.
Hope this is useful. I have lived here for 15+ years.
