Soon I am leaving for Irian Jaya to go trekking in the
Baliem Valley. How cool/cold does it get in the evening.
Should I take a fleece jacket? Any other helpful
information will be appreciated!!!
thanks

During the day while the suns shines a lot, the temperature
    can reach 25-27 degrees Celsius.
At night the temperature drops to 10 degrees. So you need a
sweater or jacket during the night.
If you go trekking, bring a blanket on the trekking.
The guide can arrange everything for you.
Have a good time: it's really very special to be there.
If you have more questions: ask me, been there twice: '94
    and '98.

Actually, the killer for me was sun poisoning!! (And the
gnats around the airport.) But seriously, take plenty of
sunscreen and use it on the tops of your hands! And just
remember that you really are in the middle of nowhere
sometimes, so bring a medical kit. I think a fleece and
    some layers will do it.
