Does anyone know where in Malaysia Jodie Foster is currently
making a movie and for how long she is doing so? I'm going
in the near future and want to avoid it.
Thanks.

it's actually in a town north of kuala lumpur (the capital
city) called Ipoh. Filming is still in progress i think but
    it's definitely NOT penang.

  3. That damn movie! Added by: Farang

The film is a piece of trash called "Anna and the King."
It's a nonmusical remake of "The King and I," and the Thais
refused to allow the filming in Thailand since it is
absolute BS. Anna Leonowens was a working class English
woman who created her own fictitious background (she was NOT
a colonel's daughter, but the Bombay-born daughter of an
English Army sergeant and his Eurasian wife) and wrote
semi-fiction to sell her books. (She was a widow who
supported herself and her children by lectures and her book
sales, so her truth stretching is understandable.)
Apparently, Anna had one audience with the King and one
only! But the script writers still have her dancing with the
King, advising or chastising him, and damn near running the
country by herself. The Thais insisted that the truth be
told before they'd allow the filming. But if the film told
the truth, there wouldn't be any story left. The King in the
story (Rama IV) is highly respected for modernising
Siam/Thailand and keeping the country free from colonialism.
But Hollywood turns him into a lecherous buffoon. (He'd
spent 26 years as a celebate monk and was the abbot of his
monastery before being asked to accept the throne.) The fun
fact in the whole nonsense is that Anna's sister's grandson
was the Frankenstein actor Boris Karloff (real named Edward
    Pratt)!
