Pucallpa, Manu or Iquitos?

Hi!
My sister and I are planning a trip to Peru this
July/August.
We are currently planning our trip, realizing that we have
far too little time to spend in the country (6 wks).
Where would you do a 4-5-day Jungle trip? Pucallpa, Iquitos
or Manu? What about the costs too?
And which (of the 100's) of the ruins are REALLY worth a
look? I guess, the novelty value of these ruins decreases
with the number of the seen ones.
Thank you for your help!
cheers,
:) mary

Never rated ruins by novelty value. If you are rating by the
impression they can convey about the culture that created
them then how about...Machu Pichu (of course), Sacsayhuman,
Chan Chan, Silustani(and if time hop over to Tiahuanaco),
Cajamarca, Chavin de Huantar, Nazca lines. Fredrico Kaufman
Doig(sp) was the dean of Peruvian archeology and wrote many
books on the subject. Not sure which are in English. Roger
Burger is another expert on Chavin culture.
